Eppel Appointed EHC President

Mr. Ronald Ball, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Escalator Handrail Company (EHC) today announced that Jeno Eppel, currently the Vice President of EHC, has been appointed President of the company. Mr. Ball will continue as the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Eppel began his career with EHC in 1979 in our production department, when the company had less than 10 employees. Progressing quickly through the ranks he made major contributions to the evolution of the company to its current global leadership, gradually assuming several senior management positions within the company, including Managing Director of EHC’s European Operations in the early 1990’s, prior to his appointment as Vice President in 2000.

A legend in our industry, he has earned the respect of all our customers and employees throughout the world,” Mr. Ball said, “Jeno has established and led a number of highly effective global teams responsible for new business development, improved operational efficiency and joint venture initiatives.”

In his new position, Mr. Eppel will be responsible for EHC’s core business and products within the global elevator and escalator industry – including the execution of a new joint venture with an American company (PCO Urethane) for the development of urethane rollers for escalators and elevators, and setting up a handrail manufacturing facility in Slovakia; Mr. Ball will focus on leading EHC’s diversification and developments outside the elevator and escalator industry, particularly in the Asia Pacific Region.
